Janine Gutierrez ecstatic over finally working with Erik Matti: ‘Tagal ko nang goal ‘to’

Janine Gutierrez could not contain her excitement as she finally fulfilled her dream of working with renowned film director Erik Matti.

The actress gave a glimpse of her meeting with Matti through her Instagram Stories on Monday, Oct. 31.

“So happy to finally work with you direk [Erik Matti]. Kung alam mo lang ‘yung saya ko. Tagal ko nang goal ‘to (If you only knew how happy I am. This has been my goal for so long),” she said. “See you soon direk! Thank you!”

Matti, for his part, showed a similar photo while tagging Gutierrez’s mom, actress Lotlot de Leon, who was also ecstatic over her daughter’s new project. The director and Gutierrez then had an exchange in the comments section where Matti commended her for a “good first day.”

Both Gutierrez and Matti did not give further details about the project.

Meanwhile, Gutierrez’s recent projects include the romantic-drama film “Ngayon Kaya” where she starred with rumored boyfriend Paulo Avelino, and the queer series “Sleep with Me.”

Matti is known for his critically acclaimed films “Buy Bust,” “Honor Thy Father,” “Seklusyon” and “On the Job: The Missing 8,” which was recently chosen as the Philippines’ entry in the upcoming 95th Academy Awards, also known as Oscars. Matti’s “On the Job” miniseries was also nominated for best TV movie or miniseries in the 50th International Emmy Awards.  /ra
