Janine Gutierrez, Lovi Poe’s ‘Sleep With Me’ bags audience award at LGBTQ film fest in LA
“Sleep With Me,” a queer series starring Janine Gutierrez and Lovi Poe, bagged the Audience Award for Best Episodic in the Outfest LGBTQ Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Outfest is a non-profit entertainment organization that produces film festivals which promote LGBTQ filmmakers and projects.
The actresses were elated as they sent their congratulatory messages to the series’ director Samantha Lee as well as the production team, via their respective Instagram pages today, July 28.
“Couldn’t be prouder of Team [‘Sleep With Me’] for this Audience Choice Award for Best Episodic in the recent [Outfest] awards! Congratulations to our girl on fire [Samantha Lee],” Poe said. “Can’t wait for our series to show on Aug. 15.”

“[Samantha Lee] bringing home the bacon from [Outfest]! Congratulations team [‘Sleep With Me’],” Gutierrez stated.

“Feels super surreal to have my second [Outfest] win — the first was the Emerging Talent Award for my first feature and now the Audience Award for my first ever series,” the director said via her Instagram page, also today. “We’re coming home soon.”

“Sleep With Me” tells the love story of a radio DJ who uses a wheelchair and a girl with a sleeping disorder. The series is a collaboration between Project 8 Projects, Dreamscape Entertainment and iWantTFC, and produced by Dan Villegas. It will premiere on Aug. 15. JB
