LOOK: Winwyn Marquez reveals she’s president of Naval Reserve training class
Kapuso star and Reina Hispanoamerica 2017 Winwyn Marquez has started training under the Philippine Naval Reserve Command amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The beauty queen-actress also revealed that she is actually the president of her class, through an Instagram post last Saturday, Aug. 1.
“BCMC CLASS 01 2020 – Class President, Marquez. Hooyah!! #PhNavyReserveForce,” Marquez said. “Congrats sa lahat (to everyone)! Class 01 [let’]s do this.”

“Strict protocol was followed and everyone was required to do a rapid test before anything else,” the actress also noted.
Article continues after this advertisementMarquez first announced that she is joining the Philippine Navy as a reservist last February, saying, “People are asking me why I want to do this… I simply said because I want to… that’s it.”
Article continues after this advertisement“We don’t need to justify what we want to do, we can just show them what we women CAN do,” said the actress, who thanked fellow GMA artist and Navy reservist Rocco Nacino for “opening [her] eyes to this.”
Marquez, the daughter of veteran actors Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno, will be joining the ranks of celebrities who are also reservists. Aside from than Nacino, this list includes Dingdong Dantes, Arci Muñoz, JM De Guzman, Gerald Anderson, and Robin Padilla. JB
