“I do Bidoo Bidoo” will compete at the Far East Film Festival to be held in Udine, Italy from April 19 to 27. The movie musical, directed by Chris Martinez, is also vying for top honors at the Osaka Asian Film Festival, set in Japan next month. The Osaka website described “I Do Bidoo” as “exuberant.” “With pleasant pop tunes (of the Apo Hiking Society), the film colorfully depicts the families’ mixed feelings” over the impending marriage of teeners.

From among 70 entries, indie films have been selected as official entries in the Quezon City Film Festival. The three finalists are: Alvin Yapan and Alemberg Ang’s romantic-comedy “Gaydar”; John Torres’ haunting tale “Lukas Niño”; and Joel Ferrer’s coming-of-age dramedy “Hello, World.” The three films are set to premiere at the QCinema fest, scheduled by the QC Film Development Commission in the first quarter of 2013.
