“Drag Race Philippines” queens were surprised to receive a message from drag queen RuPaul who is best known for producing, hosting and judging the hit reality TV series “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
The Emmy-winning drag queen greeted the queens through a taped message on the show’s pilot episode yesterday, Aug. 17, as seen on a sneak peek video on WOW Presents’ YouTube channel on the same day.
“Mabuhay, or should I say, mabu-hey! Welcome to ‘Drag Race Philippines.’ This is the beginning of the rest of your life. So don’t be scared, be prepared,” she told the contestants. “It’s time to spread your charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent for the whole world to see.”
RuPaul then wished the queens good luck by delivering her famous line in the original reality show.
“If you want to be the Philippines’ first drag race superstar, I’ve got one thing to say: Good luck and don’t f*ck it up!” she said.
“Drag Race Philippines” is hosted by actor-TV host Paolo Ballesteros, who is also one of the show’s permanent judges alongside celebrity impersonator KaladKaren and Filipino drag queen Jiggly Caliente. Celebrity photographer BJ Pascual, fashion designer Rajo Laurel and actor-impersonator Jon Santos are among this season’s rotating judges.
New episodes of “Drag Race Philippines” are released every Wednesday through Wow Presents Plus, but it is only offered in Canada through the streaming platform Crave. Fans can also watch it through the streaming service Discovery Plus and HBO Go.
The 12 competing queens for this season are: Brigiding, Corazon, Eva Le Queen, Gigi Era, Lady Morgana, Marina Summers, Minty Fresh, Precious Paula Nicole, Prince, Turing, Viñas DeLuxe and Xilhouete. /ra
