Ben&Ben’s Miguel and Paolo recover from COVID-19, urge public to ‘rest and pause’
Ben&Ben lead vocalists Miguel and Paolo Guico have recovered from COVID-19 and stressed how important it is to “listen to our bodies” if one needs to rest.
The twin brothers and members of the folk pop band spent their time recovering from the disease while quarantined together for two weeks, as seen on Miguel’s Instagram page yesterday, July 6.
“Got [COVID-19] and spent the past two weeks in quarantine at home with [Paolo]. At first, it felt quite challenging to face the most difficult thing to do for us which is to stay still,” he admitted.
Miguel disclosed that he and Paolo got used to the “daily grind” of their work as musicians and forgot to relax.
“At some point, ‘di namin nakita pero hinihingi na pala ng mga katawan namin ang pahinga (we did not see it, but our bodies were asking us to rest),” he said. “Then we realize that life has a natural way of telling us to pause.”

Hoping that you would have an opportunity to rest when you can. And when that happens, may you come back stronger,” he added.

Meanwhile, Paolo told fans about his recovery via his Instagram Stories, also yesterday.
“So alam niyo ba, recovered na me sa [COVID-19] kaso wala akong masyadong panlasa. Sad pala ‘pag ganun. Appreciate mo bigla ‘pag nakakatikim ka ng masarap, sanaol,” he said.
(So did you know I recovered from COVID-19, but I did not have much sense of taste. Sad when that happens. You then get to appreciate when you taste something delicious, I hope all.)
Ben&Ben revealed last June 24 that Miguel had contracted COVID-19, as it canceled its June 26 show in Surigao. The band then postponed another performance in Isabela after Paolo and percussionist-vocalist Toni Muñoz both tested positive for COVID-19 as well.
The nine-piece band is set to hold a send-off concert in September before flying to the United States and Canada for a tour. /ra
