Liza Soberano appears to be taking a different career path moving forward as her talent manager Ogie Diaz revealed she is hoping to pursue opportunities in Hollywood.

Diaz let fans in on the actress’ career plans as he talked about speculations on Soberano’s trip to Los Angeles, as seen in his YouTube vlog today, May 25.

“Ang alam ko talaga ay iba na ang career na tatahakin ni Liza. May career pa rin siya rito pero gusto niyang magkaroon din ng opportunity sa Hollywood,” he said. “Ang importante ngayon kay Liza ay ang kanyang inner happiness at ‘yan naman ay nakikita ko sa kanya, na happy siya inside. ‘Yun ang importante.”

(What I really know is that Liza will now take a different career path. She still has a career here, but she wants to have an opportunity in Hollywood. What is important for Liza right now is her inner happiness and that is what I am seeing in her, that she is happy inside. That is important.)

FEATURED STORIES

Earlier this week, Soberano and her fellow actor James Reid attended an event in California. The pair also bonded with friends at a football game in Los Angeles last Friday, May 20.

This led fans to speculate that the two may be collaborating, while some rumors claimed there may be something romantic brewing between the two. Diaz dismissed any romance rumors, especially since Soberano is in a relationship with her onscreen partner, actor Enrique Gil.

“Walang malisya ‘yung pinost niya kasi magkaibigan naman talaga sila ni James Reid. Kaya lang ‘yung iba, siyempre, bibigyan ng malisya,” he told fans. (There is no malice in Liza’s post because she is really friends with James Reid. But others, of course, would give malice to it.)

Diaz stressed that Soberano and Gil, also known as the love team LizQuen, are still together.

“Ako naniniwala na sila pa rin. Nagkataon lang na may family affair si Quen (Gil) sa Spain at ‘yung kanyang tour doon, si Liza ay mayroon din,” he explained. (I believe they are still a couple. It just so happened that [Enrique] had a family affair in Spain and as he is touring there, Liza also has [plans] of her own.)

Diaz earlier dismissed romance rumors in his YouTube vlog last Saturday, May 21. He noted that Soberano was supposed to join Gil in his trip to Spain, but the plan did not push through. The actor’s flight to Spain was scheduled for May 8 and Soberano opted to stay in the Philippines to cast her vote during the May 9 elections.

Gil is in Spain for a family member’s wedding, while Soberano has been spending time in the United States with her brother.

Soberano and Gil have been together since 2014, though they revealed their relationship in 2019. They celebrated their seventh year together in October last year.  /ra
