Jane de Leon is about to take flight as the Filipino superhero Darna with the release of the teaser for “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series.”
JRB Creative Production released the official teaser for the upcoming series on its Twitter and Instagram pages today, Dec. 19.
The teaser shows de Leon’s character Narda receiving a magical stone from her mother, the first Darna (Iza Calzado), and training to become the superhero. It also gives glimpses of Narda’s love interest, police officer Brian Samonte Robles (Joshua Garcia) and supervillain Valentina (Janella Salvador).
De Leon is yet to be seen in the iconic Darna costume, though she can be heard shouting “Darna!” in the teaser.

Cameras started rolling for “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series” last Nov. 15. It is set for launch next year, 2022.
Actors who are also in the cast are Zaijan Jaranilla, Kiko Estrada, Simon Ibarra, Joj Agpangan, Young JV and Rio Locsin, among others. The series is helmed by acclaimed director Chito S. Roño and Avel Sunpongco of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” JB
