BINI — composed of Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha and Sheena — was named Women of the Year by Billboard Philippines, and will be honored at the “Women in Music: The Executive Edition” ceremony with female industry leaders.
The P-pop powerhouse’s distinction was announced by the publication on its social media platforms on Thursday, March 27, saying the female octet’s success in the past year has been undeniable.”
“The last year of Filipino music has been its most exciting yet, and at the core of it all has been BINI. With sold-out concerts around the world, chart-topping hits, and international awards, there’s no denying the success of [the] Nation’s Girl Group. And rightfully so, Billboard Philippines proudly names BINI as the 2025 Women Of The Year,” its post read.

The girl group will be recognized along with Rhiza Pascua (Management, Concerts, and Live Entertainment), Kathleen Dy-Go (OPM Vanguard), Marivic Benedicto (Music Rights), Georgette Tengco (Music Distribution), Audry Dionisio (Independent Record Labels) and Roslyn Pineda (Industry and Record Label).
This marks the second time BINI will be recognized by the local branch of the global music publication in a Woman’s Month-centered event. It previously bagged the Rising Star award at the Billboard Philippines Women in Music ceremony in March 2024.
Other awardees in the past year included Sarah Geronimo, Regine Velasquez, Pilita Corrales, Ena Mori, Morissette Amon and Belle Mariano.
Earlier this month, the female octet reached one billion cumulative streams on Spotify, and “BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win” (the first chapter of the girl group’s docu series) was shortlisted for the Documentary: Biography or Profiles category at this year’s New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.
BINI, which released its second EP, “Biniverse,” in February, is gearing up for its upcoming world tour with stops in Dubai, London, Canada and the US. The tour’s first leg was held at the Philippine Arena earlier this year.
