David Licauco ‘in awe’ of Kathryn Bernardo after fashion show moment

David Licauco admitted that he’s been “in awe” of Kathryn Bernardo at a recent fashion show where they had a brief moment on the runway that went viral on social media.

Licauco shared his reaction in an interview with reporters after the media conference for his upcoming film “Samahan ng mga Makasalanan” on Thursday, March 27.

“I’ve been vocal about it [wanting to work with Bernardo]. Nung bata ako siya ‘yung pinapanood ko kaya nung nakita ko siya nung isang araw sa Bench, I was in awe,” he said.

The “Pulang Araw” actor also greeted Bernardo as she recently marked her 29th birthday with a sultry photoshoot.

“Happy birthday, Kathryn. Nakita ko actually ‘yung post niya sa Instagram. Wow, syempre coming from someone na pinapanood ko nung bata pa lang siya, bata pa rin ako non […] I’ve been seeing her growth as an actress and as a person. I’m really happy for her,” he expressed.

Despite their viral moment, Licauco clarified that they did not have any conversation while they were on stage, adding that he’s just happy about the moment, “Kinikilig? Hindi naman. Happy lang.”

Over the weekend, the duo made headlines after netizens noticed their chemistry when they stood next to each other at the end of the runway.

Licauco also posted the photo of his brief encounter with Bernardo on his Instagram page.

Meanwhile, Licauco currently stars as a priest in “Samahan ng mga Makasalanan.” His character, Sam, is on a mission to convert sinners including thieves and gangsters, among others, as he forms a church group to encourage them to change their lives.

Aside from Licauco, the film also features Sanya Lopez, Joel Torre, Buboy Villar, Chariz Solomon, Betong Sumaya, Euwenn Mikaell and more. It will premiere in local cinemas on April 19.
