Beatrice Luigi Gomez’s family in Cebu among affected by typhoon Odette
Beatrice Luigi Gomez’s family in Cebu City has fallen victim to typhoon Odette (international name: Rai), which hit various areas in the Philippines and first made landfall in the country yesterday, Dec. 16.
The Miss Universe Philippines Organization announced that it will be postponing Gomez’s interviews and other engagements so that she can immediately return to Cebu City after her quarantine in a hotel in Pasay city and assist her family, as per its Facebook and Instagram pages today, Dec. 17.
“According to Bea, her family was trapped in their home during the typhoon and it badly damaged the apartment building. Thankfully, they are physically safe now,” the organization stated. “Bea’s priority is her family’s welfare at the moment. As soon as she is out of quarantine, she will head to Cebu to assist them.”
The Miss Universe Organization extended its prayers to those affected by the typhoon and appealed for the public’s support in relief operations by Gomez and SimplyShare Foundation Inc..
