“Determinado,” which was the Philippines’ entry for the international competition, also bested finalists from countries such as the United States, Peru and Russia.

It was judged by a seven-member panel that consisted of music producers from around the word, including singer Christian Bautista, according to the DMA’s website.

Pablo celebrated his DMA win by addressing his fans through his Twitter account, also on Monday.

“Thank You A’tin!!! I love you alll! @josuengmusika Panalo!” Pablo said. He also thanked the DMAs for helping him learn about various cultures.

“You’ve helped a lot of artists through this platform and I hope the community gets even bigger. I got to listen to amazing artists from all over the world. Somehow, I also got a glimpse of their culture,” he said.
