Liza Soberano says has no plans of joining Miss Universe tilt
Liza Soberano made it clear that competing for the Miss Universe crown is not her cup of tea, after a Facebook account posing as her claimed that she would be representing the country next year.
“As much as I am flattered and grateful for all of your support and comments saying that I should give Miss Universe a try, I really don’t think it is for me,” the actress said through her Instagram Stories yesterday, May 17.
She also debunked one of the Facebook account impostor’s posts, which claimed that she would compete in the Miss Universe pageant next year if the current candidate Rabiya did not win the crown. Mateo made it to the competition’s Top 21 semifinalists, but not the Top 10 candidates.
“Pag si Rabiya talaga ‘di maiuwi ang crown, ako talaga sasali next year (If Rabiya does not bring home the crown, I’ll really join [the pageant] next year)!” the impostor said hours before the pageant’s winner was crowned.
“Ang kapal naman ng face ko (That’s shameless of me),” Soberano stated. She added that she thinks beauty pageants are not for her as she described herself as an introvert and scared of huge audiences.
