The soon-to-be mother later expressed her gratitude for Manzanero through a short video featuring snippets from her pregnancy so far. The clip showed the couple holding a positive pregnancy test, the baby’s sonograms and check-ups at a medical center, among others.

She also included a letter written from their future baby’s perspective.

“Hi daddy! Last day na namin ni mommy sa first trimester kahapon,” the letter said. “Hindi po naging madali kay mommy ang lihi stage niya pero buti nalang [nandiyan] ka para alagaan kami.”

(Hi daddy! Yesterday was mommy’s and my last day of the first trimester. Mommy’s pregnancy has not been easy but thankfully you were there to take care of us.)

Posing as the child, Halili also thanked Manzanero for supplying them with food and vitamins, as well as agreeing to her requests for massages whenever she feels unwell. The letter also joked that it was fun to talk with Manzanero because the baby could hear a lot of gossips even from the womb.

“I can’t wait to see you!” the message further said. “Ngayon palang I want you to know that you are the best daddy sa buong mundo, para sa akin!”

(As early as now I want you to know that you are the best daddy in the world for me!)

The letter also pointed out that the idea for the short clip supposedly came from the upcoming kid.

“Sinabi ko kay mommy to make a short video for you para maalala mo moments [natin] noong nasa tummy pako ni mommy,” the letter said.

(I told mommy to make a short video for you so you can remember our moments when I was still in mommy’s tummy.)

The proud father spoke about their first child on his own page as well. He penned a short message for the baby, dubbing it as the “first episode of ‘How You Met Your Parents’,” a play on the popular American TV sitcom “How I Met Your Mother”.

“Let me tell you about a story on why your parents looked like this when we first saw you. Well, it was the worst of times and the best of times,” Manzanero said alongside a photo of him and Halili in face masks and face and eye shields while showing their child’s sonograms.

Manzanero explained that he considered it to be the “worst of times” due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has made people stay in quarantine. He added that the child can read about the crisis online or he/she would end up learning about it in a history class in the future.

However, Manzanero stressed that it was also the “best of times” because God had given them their first child.  Manzanero then assured the baby that he/she already “[means] the world” to him.

The couple tied the knot in an indoor ceremony in Quezon City last February. They got engaged back in August 2018 after Manzanero proposed to the actress in a movie theater in Greenhills, San Juan. JB
