‘Bigyan ng jacket yan!’: Gab Valenciano joins ‘Wowowin’ as director
Gab Valenciano is starting the year with a fresh new role as he joins the variety show “Wowowin” as one of its directors.
The program’s host, Willie Revillame, introduced Valenciano as a new member of the show during an episode last Thursday, Jan. 16, which was uploaded on Wowowin’s YouTube channel on the same day.
Valenciano later took the time to reflect on his new role, as seen in his Instagram post yesterday, Jan. 21. He accompanied his post with various photos and videos from his first moments on the show.

Taking this time to simply reflect on my life and let all of you know that if you wait long enough, try hard enough and hope deep enough, good things can happen. Three years ago I was desperate for a job. I had aspirations on becoming a director but it just never fell through. Then it dawned to me, it’s not good enough to be good at what you do. You need to be good within. So I had to check myself and see what adjustments needed to be made. Character speaks louder than actions. I want to thank Kuya Wil for believing in me since day one. His support has been endless and his creative genius and experience allows me to stretch my imagination even further. And to the staff and crew, thank you for welcoming me. I love you all. I will do my very best. And last but not the least, thank You Lord. All glory belongs to You and You alone. Let’s do this! Bigyan ng jacket yan!! 💯
Aside from contemplating on being the program’s newest director, he also reminded his followers that “if you wait long enough, try hard enough and hope deep enough, good things can happen.”
“Three years ago I was desperate for a job,” Valenciano admitted. “I had aspirations on becoming a director but it just never fell through.”
“Then it dawned to me, it’s not good enough to be good at what you do,” he added. “You need to be good within.”
This realization led him to “check [himself] and see what adjustments needed to be made.”
He then thanked Revillame for “believing in [him] since day one,” adding that his support has been endless. Valenciano also noted that the TV host’s “creative genius and experience” allowed him to “stretch [his] imagination even further.”
The director also expressed his gratitude to the staff and crew of the show before thanking God. Borrowing Revillame’s famous line on the show, Valenciano said: “Let’s do this! Bigyan ng jacket yan (Give him a jacket)!!” /ra
