Gary Valenciano to have ‘last major concert’ in 2020, says son Paolo

Paolo Valenciano teased today, Dec. 13, that he is planning his dad Gary Valenciano’s “last major concert” slated for 2020.

Paolo made the announcement on Instagram with a picture of what looked to be an emotional moment in the family. “This is what happens when you plan his last major concert. #Araneta #April #2020,” he said.

It seems the concert will be a two-day event from April 18 to 19 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, as per his Instagram Stories where he posted a wishlist of performers. Those listed were Daniel Padilla, Darren Espanto, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, Julie Anne San Jose and Ebe Dancel. Of course, family is included too: Gary’s second child, Gab Valenciano.

Paolo has directed major concerts including those of Sarah Geronimo and Sharon Cuneta.

Gary V, known as Mr. Pure Energy, celebrated 35 years in the biz back in 2018. He revealed that he battled kidney cancer in July 2018 and that he was “cancer-free” July this year.  /ra
