Alice Dixson has appeared in numerous productions since she started acting, but still takes the time to look back at her time as the titular character in “Dyesebel”.

The actress took to Instagram yesterday, Dec. 14 to post some scenes from the 1990 film with her fellow cast members Judy Ann Santos, Malou de Guzman and Richard Gomez.

This film debuted in 1990. I was 18 when we started principal photography. It took two years to complete as like many nerve wracking movies we had our share of setbacks…our producer, Mother Lily of regal films was unsure whether to invest in me, a very expensive orange neoprene dive-suit tail & an underwater camera casing that no production ever had back then. Here is a scene with @officialjuday She was so little, cute, smart & already full of stardom. Malu de Guzman @maloudeguzman_ always so light, refreshingly fun, entertaining. And of course Goma, @richardgomezinstagram my leading man, the epitome of Tall Dark and Dashing. So many fond memories. More flashbacks upcoming with further nuggets of insight… Til then – Enjoy! #Dyesebel #AliceDixson #RichardGomez #RegalFilms #Throwback

Dixson recalled how she was only 18 years old when they started filming the production.

“It took two years to complete as like many [nerve-wracking] movies we had our share of setbacks,” she said.

“[O]ur producer, Mother Lily of [Regal Films] was unsure whether to invest in me, a very expensive orange neoprene dive-suit tail [and] an underwater camera casing that no production ever had back then,” Dixson explained.

The decision to “invest” in Dixson later paid off as she became the first “Dyesebel” star to don the now-iconic orange tail of the mermaid. The 1990 film was also the first production of “Dyesebel” that featured underwater scenes.

Dixson’s “Dysebel”, directed by Mel Chionglo, was the fourth version of the popular comic book character on the big screen. Prior to Dixson, Edna Luna, Vilma Santos and Alma Moreno also played the titular role.

The actress could not help but wax sentimental over her time with her fellow actors. She described Santos at the time as “so little, cute, smart [and] already full of stardom.”

As for de Guzman, Dixson recalled her as being “always so light, refreshingly fun, entertaining.” Meanwhile, she named Gomez, her leading man in the film, as “the epitome of Tall Dark and Dashing.”

Dixson also hinted at her sharing more moments from the said film soon, saying, “More flashbacks upcoming with further nuggets of insight… Til then – Enjoy!”

She last starred in the psycho-thriller “Nuuk” opposite Aga Muhlach. JB
