LOOK: ‘Charlie’s Angels’ stars reunite as Lucy Liu receives Walk of Fame star
Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz reunited on Wednesday, May 1, marking almost 20 years since the first “Charlie’s Angels” premiered in 2000.
The reunion was in light of Liu being honored with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was awarded under the TV category for work on “Ally McBeal,” “Elementary” and “Southland.”
Liu is the second Asian-American to receive a Hollywood star. Her star is beside that of Anna May Wong, the first Chinese-American to be recognized on the Walk of Fame.
Her “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” co-star Demi Moore was a guest speaker in the event. Moore praised her for being “a badass with brains, a beautiful heart, with a deep, loving soul, and a damn good sense of humor.”
“Lucy continues to surprise me with her courage and fearless determination, seeing obstacles as mere stepping stones on the path to where you wanna go,” she said.
Sharing a picture of her, Liu and Diaz during the event, Barrymore said on Instagram, “We love each other and support each other. Always will.”
Liu’s son Rockwell Lloyd Liu made the event more special.
The 2000’s “Charlie’s Angels” was based on the 1970s TV series. A reboot is set for release this year starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska. /ra
