LOOK: LJ Reyes, Paolo Contis comedic in ‘expectation vs. reality’ maternity shoot
For LJ Reyes and Paolo Contis, who are expecting their first child together, the best way to mark the special occasion is by showcasing their personalities in a unique maternity shoot to remember.
Contis and Reyes’ personalities are as different as night and day — while Reyes is soft-spoken and prim, her boyfriend is known for being hilarious, as seen in shots posted by photography service Nice Print via Instagram yesterday, Dec. 19. The couple, joined by Reyes’ son with Paulo Avelino, Aki, used their differences to form an “expectation vs. reality” concept aptly fitting for their shoot.
In their first expectation photo, Reyes can be seen with her head on Contis’ shoulder while clutching her baby bump. Both clad in stylish ensembles, the two looked serene standing amid a misty background. However, in the reality photo, it was Aki who was producing the “rain” in the background using a white spray bottle filled with water.

The radiant Reyes, who donned a yellow dress, was enjoying the falling brown leaves while sitting on a laid out blanket in their second expectation photo, as per the actress’ Instagram account on the same day. In the next photo, it was revealed that the falling leaves effect were made with the help of Contis and Aki.

For their third expectation photo, Reyes looked stunning in a pink dress while clutching a cluster of pink and silver balloons in one hand, and her baby bump on the other. It turns out the perfect arrangement of balloons was due to Aki who was holding the other end of the balloons in place.

Reyes showcased her pregnancy glow in a photo of her amid green foliage in their fourth expectation photo, as seen via Contis’ Instagram account yesterday. Their fourth reality photo reveals, however, that the leaves were perfectly positioned by Contis and Aki.

As for their fifth expectation photo, Reyes was picture perfect in glowing lights which was later revealed, to be a string of lights held by Contis and Aki.
“Sabi nga nila, ‘Behind a beautiful IG picture is a supportive jowa,” Contis wrote, thanking his “assistant” Aki. “Buti na lang may masipag akong alalay! Ang mahal nga lang ng suhol! Tapos pag pagod na, mas attitude pa sa buntis! ”
(They say, “Behind a beautiful IG picture is a supportive boyfriend.” It’s a good thing I have a hard-working assistant. Only, bribing him is expensive! Plus, when he’s gone tired, his temper is worse than the one who’s pregnant. [laughs]) JB
