“I still can’t fathom how this has happened, it was so sudden,” Zaragoza, whose real name is Richelle Ann Loyola, wrote yesterday in an Instagram post dedicated to her brother. She revealed that Loyola passed away due to aneurysm.

The singer said she will always remember her brother for being soft-spoken and shy, adding that her favorite thing about him was his passion for writing. She described her brother as an “amazingly gifted author.”

Zaragoza then revealed their plan of having him stay over at their home sometime during Christmas. “I wish we could’ve done that,” she said.

“I will not forget the times you told me how proud you were of me, and of what I have achieved in life, and how you were not shy about telling everyone how proud you were to have me as your sister,” Zaragoza recalled. “You will always have a special place in my heart. You will always be remembered.”

Fellow celebrities sent their condolences to the singer over her loss, such as Rachel Alejandro, Ogie Alcasid, Ramon Christopher Gutierrez and Marjorie Barretto.

This is not the only family tragedy that happened to Zaragoza this year. Back in June, she revealed that she had a miscarriage. She then thanked her 15-year-old daughter Jayda for helping her cope during the loss.

Last June, their family was also a victim of theft in California, after her husband Dingdong Avanzado’s car window was smashed. Avanzado lost some valuable documents and credit cards. JB
