Aga Muhlach’s father Cheng passes away

Alvaro “Cheng” Muhlach, father to actor Aga Muhlach, passed away yesterday, May 12. He was 71 years old.

The Muhlach patriarch died in his sleep between 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. at a hospital after being rushed for a cardiac arrest, ABS-CBN reported.

His children and other family members, many of whom are in showbiz, remembered him through posting pictures on social media.

Actress Arlene Muhlach was at a loss for words as she shared a picture of the Muhlach siblings, all smiles with dad.

Actor and singer AJ Muhlach posted a photo of him and his dad with the caption “Papa.”

Almira Muhlach remembered her dad with photos from her wedding. “I love you Papa! Thank you for everything!” she wrote.

Andrew Muhlach shared a baby picture and a number of bonding moments with his dad.

“I love you so much Papa. Wag ka magsawa na i-guide ako ha? Parati naman ako nakikinig sayo. Mamimiss kita papa (Don’t get tired of guiding me okay? I’ll always listen to you. I’ll miss you papa),” Andrew wrote.

He also expressed his close relationship with his father in a tweet: “Wala na yung bestfriend ko. Alam mo naman kung gano kita kamahal at sobra tayo dikit sa isa’t isa.

(My best friend is gone. You know how much I love you and how we’ve been so stuck together.)

Daughter Andrea Muhlach described him as her “angel.”

Nephew Niño Muhlach said that in heaven, his uncle would no longer have diabetes and other ailments. He also teased him that cursing and womanizing wouldn’t be allowed.

His wake begins today, May 13 at The Heritage Park, Taguig, Chapels 2 and 3. JB
