PH bet is Miss Elite 1st runner-up
MANILA, Philippines—Shanon Tampon of the Philippines was proclaimed first runner-up in the 2022 Miss Elite pageant staged in Soma Bay, Egypt, on June 10 (June 11 in Manila).
The 25-year-old entrepreneur and mechanical engineering student also took home the Miss Elite Asia title and the Best in Evening Gown award.
The coveted crown went to India’s Deep Supriyam, who succeeded Mexican Fernanda Pumar, the first-ever Miss Elite winner.
Completing Supriyam’s court are second runner-up Valeria Sizova from Australia, third runner-up Yanuaria Verde from Venezuela, and fourth runner-up Caterina Mariana Bernal from Argentina.
Thirty-seven delegates participated in the global tilt’s second edition.

Several other Filipino representatives finished second in international pageants recently held in Egypt—Miss Eco International first runners-up Maureen Montagne and Kelley Day, and Miss Eco Teen International first runner-up Tatyana Austria.
Tampon, 2019 Miss Caloocan and a veteran of the Mutya ng Pilipinas, Miss Philippines Earth, and Binibining Pilipinas pageants, is the Philippines’ first representative to the Miss Elite pageant.
She was sent by ProMedia, a health and wellness company that hones and prepares Filipino women for various national and international competitions who are dubbed “beauty athletes.”
Recently crowned Miss World Philippines Gwendolyne Fourniol is also a ProMedia beauty athlete.
