Michael V. warned the public to be more careful when receiving deliveries through cash-on-delivery (COD) after he fell victim to an online selling scam.

The comedian said a package was delivered to his home in his absence and was priced five times more than the actual value of the item, he recounted through a video on his Instagram page yesterday, Oct. 17.

The item was a selfie stick which he estimated would cost around P500 pesos but was received by their family helper via COD for P2,550. According to Michael V., he usually uses a credit card when purchasing items online.

Michael V. reminded the public to be careful when receiving packages marked as COD, stressing that customers can reject an item from a delivery rider if they did not order it.

“Sa mga mahilig mamili online, be vigilant. Abangan niyo ‘yung mga scam na kagaya into,” he told fans. “Kapag hindi niyo inorder, just say no.”
