Marvel’s ‘Loki’ officially renewed for season 2
Marvel’s “Loki” starring Tom Hiddleston’s titular God of Mischief has been officially renewed for a second season on Disney Plus.
In true Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fashion, the official announcement came in the form of a mid-credits scene in the show’s finale that aired yesterday, July 14.
“Loki will return in season 2,” the stamp on Loki Laufeyson’s Time Variance Authority (TVA) file read.
Directed by Kate Herron, “Loki” is the third Marvel show on Disney Plus that is set in the MCU. It was released following the Emmy-nominated series “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”
In “Loki,” fans follow the God of Mischief from the 2012 “Avengers” era as he gets arrested and taken by the TVA for “crimes against the sacred timeline.”

With Sylvie killing the TVA mastermind in the end, she paves the way for the multiverse and the introduction of the upcoming “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” villain, Kang the Conqueror.
The release date of the second season of “Loki” has yet to be revealed as of this writing. Fans speculate, however, that the MCU will be tackling the multiverse as soon as “Spider-Man: No Way Home” this December and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” in March 2022.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hiddleston’s Loki has also been rumored to appear in the said “Doctor Strange” sequel alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, but Marvel has not yet made an official announcement. /ra
