‘The Powerpuff Girls’ live-action reboot casts Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault
The live-action adaptation of “The Powerpuff Girls” is in the works and has found its leads in Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault.
The reboot for the beloved Cartoon Network animated series was first announced to be in development in August last year. This time around, as grown-ups, Bennet, Cameron and Perrault will be bringing life to the superheroes who learned to resent their childhood lost to fighting crime.
Bennet will be playing Blossom, Cameron was cast to be Bubbles, while Perrault will be seen as Buttercup, said a report from Variety on March 9.
Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier will be writing for the series while Maggie Kiley will be directing it, based on the original animated series by Craig McCracken. The series will air on the American television network The CW.
The live-action series will be continuing the story of the animated series instead of rehashing it, the report said.
