Actress Rica Peralejo, who is currently in the United States with her family, narrated to fans how she handled her baby boy Manu’s recovery after he suffered from an injured hand due to a terrible fall.

Manu, who just turned a year old on June 9, accidentally fell from a cooler and tried to grab on an oven to break the fall, only for the stainless steel to tear his tiny fingers’ skin, Peralejo said on Instagram yesterday, June 30.

While Manu has since been brought home to completely recover, the doting mother could not help but get off her chest the terrifying experience of seeing her baby hurt.

“He was bleeding profusely and it was very disorienting to see that much blood gushing out from my son’s hand. It dripped on the floor, stained the sink, soaked the towel,” she recounted.

“When he was gauzed up by the nurse at the reception of the ER, it only took a while before the white mesh blotted crimson,” Peralejo added.

Peralejo’s post came with a video containing snippets from what was supposed to be “just like any other day” in her household before Manu got injured. It also showed photos and clips of Manu’s injured fingers and their stay at the hospital.

“When the lady was asking for his name, I could not remember it all. I was more unsure about his birthday. It was so hard to gather my thoughts and keep them all in one place. All I could think of was how much I needed them to see my son and treat him and save him,” Peralejo stressed.

“Apparently, this is normal for some moms. Stitches and burns, ER runs. I was comforted for a while but then I became afraid again. What kind of mom wants this to be the norm?” she said.

It took nine hours in the emergency room for Manu to get patched up, although it took her two days “to get back to some sense of normal in my life.”

“All I could do since Friday was hold my baby and cry from time to time,” she said. “Manu, as you will see in the video, is back to normal. We are not. It may take some time… for reasons I have not enough space to tell.”

Peralejo emphasized that in the life of a mother of two boys, “some days are normal and some days are extraordinary.”

“Let’s see if I can also show you something exciting about being a wife of a pastor. HAHAHAHA,” she joked.

Peralejo is married to Joseph Bonifacio and has two sons with him, namely Manu and his older brother Philip.

“I think my life has never a dull moment because my husband in himself is an adventure to be with. Being a pastor has nothing to do with it. He simply is like… some kind of Magic Mountain. No wonder my boys are… such exciting people, too,” the loving mother said. JB
