KC Concepcion looks back on past film: ‘Nami-miss ko na umarte’

KC Concepcion’s hiatus from acting has done her well, as it allowed her to pursue passion projects, one of which was putting up her own bespoke jewelry line, “Avec Moi by Kristina” last year.
Lately, however, Concepcion has expressed she misses acting. This was made clear when she looked back on her role as Marla Dee in Chito Roño’s 2013 action film “Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill.” Conception took to social media where she shared clips of her scenes from the film last May 8, keeping in spirit with the 2019 Met Gala’s camp theme.
“Did someone say CAMP?” Concepcion quipped.
“Because I’m in the MOOD. Ohh man I’d play fierce roles like her again and again…,” she added. “Nang dahil sa #MetGala2019 napa post ako nito eh! Namimiss ko na umarte ha!!!”

“Boy Golden” was an entry in the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival and saw Concepcion play female gangster Marla Dee out for revenge, a demanding role that had her train in mixed martial arts and gun firing.
“I trained five hours a day for three months. I had to be adept at fighting, especially since I’m the only female gangster in the movie,” she said back in 2014. “I just really stuck to my character.”
Concepcion considers her role of Marla in “Boy Golden” as the toughest she’s ever had to date and she’s down to play roles like her again and again—in her own good time. /ra
