KC Concepcion to body-shaming basher: ‘I am my own fitspiration’

KC Concepcion faced down a basher on Instagram who accused her of deceiving her two million-plus followers.

The actress and bespoke jewelry designer regularly shares portraits of herself to fans via her Instagram account, with some taken from past photo shoots.

One such picture was posted yesterday, Jan. 26. Concepcion is seen on a rattan stool, wearing an off-shoulder top, denim shorts and heels. She credited the photo to Mark Nicdao.

“It is a magical time, the moment you decide to be yourself,” she captioned the photo.

Though it seems she was trying to send a message of positivity, some netizens still found something to criticize about it.

One @joju_2019 said, “That’s like fooling us [though] @itskcconcepcion! That’s an old photo! You didn’t mention na TB pa e luma na pic na yan! Tabachoy [ka na]! (You didn’t mention that it’s a throwback photo, that’s an old photo! You’re fat now!)”

“So be yourself! Decide to be yourself as you quote!” the netizen said.

“I am my own fitspiration,” Concepcion clapped back. “Why do you have to be so harsh? Don’t you think people can already be harsh on themselves? It hurts.”

She did not mention, however, when the photo was taken.

Concepcion has previously opened up on her fitness struggles. In a 2017 Instagram post, she revealed that she was “sensitive to chemicals supplement and sugar” which poses a challenge in weight loss.

At the time, she said she had been doing stress management, eating right and working out to keep fit. JB
