Baron Geisler, who was released from a brief detention after an alleged drunken behavior in Mandaue City, lamented how “irresponsible journalism” caused events surrounding the incident to be blown out of control.
Geisler addressed the incident on his Facebook page on Monday, February 24, while calling out news outlets that “failed to verify the facts,” although he has yet to give his side of the story.
“Breaking my silence. There’s a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting. Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion,” he said without further elaborating which facts he was referring to.
The actor reiterated that he is doing okay and has sought “legal advice” on how to address the matter.
“I want to make it clear—I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly. To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything,” he said.
Geisler’s post comes after reports of him being taken into custody at the Canduman Police Station last Saturday, February 22 made headlines, where he allegedly violated Mandaue’s City Ordinance No. 11-2008-434 (drunkenness) or severe intoxication.
