Timothée Chalamet and Demi Moore received critical acclaim for their performances in “A Complete Unknown” and “The Substance,” respectively, at the 2025 iteration of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards in Los Angeles, California.

Held at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California on February 23 (morning of February 24 in the Philippines), the 31st edition of the SAG Awards recognized the best of film and TV in Hollywood, with Chalamet and Moore bringing home the top acting honors in the movie industry.

According to critics, the awards ceremony is one of the factors that will set the stage for the upcoming Academy Awards in March.

Meanwhile, Colin Farrell, Jessica Gunning, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Anna Sawai were recognized by the awards-giving body for their performances in the TV series “The Penguin,” “Baby Reindeer,” and “Shogun,” respectively.

In his acceptance speech, Chalamet thanked her mother Nicole Flender, who came with him to the awards show. “I’ll start by thanking my mother who I’m here with tonight. She has been working at Actors’ Equity for 40 years, in the stage union,” he said of his mother.

“I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much this means to me,” he said, “but the truth is this was five and half years of my life.”
