Bea Borres vows to protect ‘sister’ Andrea Brillantes at all costs
Andrea Brillantes’ close friend and “Kadenang Ginto” co-star Bea Borres vowed to protect the actress at all costs, as she pointed out that they have each other’s back.
Borres, while referring to Brillantes as her “sister,” said they’re the type of people who wouldn’t waste time dealing with bashers, during a Push interview uploaded on its YouTube channel last Friday, Dec. 1.
“Alam ko naman sa sarili ko kung ano ang totoo (I know to myself what’s the truth),” she said, when asked on how they deal with negative comments on social media. “We really just don’t care, and we really love each other.”
Despite this, Borres admitted that she tends to be a “patolera,” or someone who fights back against bashers at times, although she’s doing her best to “keep [her] peace.”
“Medyo patolera pa rin pala ako. [Kung pwede silang] mag-say, excuse me ako rin. Dati kasi nag-papaapekto talaga ako, dati kasi nada-down ako. Ngayon, wala, basta nasabi ko na ‘yung gusto ko sabihin, bahala na kayo,” she said.

The social media personality eventually realized that she will have her way against bashers as they will always have something to say. “Honestly, hindi ka mananalo sa mga bashers (Honestly, you will never win against bashers).”
“Kahit anong sabihin mo, may sasabihin at sasabihin pa rin sila,” she continued. “Sa inyo na ‘yan. Basta ako, may gusto akong sabihin, sasabihin ko, and then after that hindi na ako para dire-diretsong magsabi ng kung ano-ano. I will keep my peace.”
(No matter how much you defend yourself, they will always have something to say. Then just let them be. For me, as long as I said what needs to be said, and then after that, I will stop from talking even further. I will keep my peace.)
Stirring back the topic to Brillantes, Borres admitted that she and the “Senior High” star initially didn’t have a good first impression with each other, but it was “Kadenang Ginto” that eventually made their friendship stronger.
“Grabe, sobrang strong ng friendship namin ngayon [ni Andrea Brillantes]. As in parang sisters talaga (Wow, my friendship with Andrea Brillantes is very strong. As in we see each other as sisters),” she said.
The internet personality also asserted that she’s willing to do everything to protect Brillantes, whether it’s online or offline.
“Alam ng Brilliantes fans niya at alam ng Twitter na grabe talaga kung i-protect ko si Andrea,” she said. “As in pinoprotektahan ko talaga siya. Kahit sa personal.”
“Naalala ko nag-taping ako tapos topic ng iba si Blythe, ang bata-bata pa raw [but] she doesn’t act her age. Tapos sinasabi ko talaga, ‘Excuse me, that’s not her fault. Society perceives her that way.’ Ginanun ko talaga sila,” she continued, recalling a certain event where she stood up for the actress.
(Her Brilliants fans and Twitter knows how much I’m willing to protect Andrea. As in I really protect her. Even in person. I remember that I overheard people talking about Blythe during taping, they said she’s still young and she doesn’t act her age. “Excuse me, that’s not her fault. Society perceives her that way,” that’s what I said to them.)
Borres earlier made headlines after taking offense at a netizen’s remark on her apparent silence following Brillantes’ alleged involvement in the split of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
Last October, she also stood up for the actress during the height of her breakup with basketball player Ricci Rivero.
