Kier Legaspi lamented the misunderstanding between Dennis Padilla and his children with Marjorie Barretto, with the former expressing his support to his fellow actor, reminding him to endure and to do what he thinks is right.

Kier, who also shares his estranged daughter Dani with Marjorie, gave his two cents on Padilla’s relationship with Julia, Claudia and Leon through an interview on the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast on Monday, Dec. 4.

The topic was brought up after podcast host, Canlas, asked Kier about how he felt after Dani introduced her daughter Millie to the Legaspi family, except him.

Kier disclosed that it has been a long time since he last spoke to Dani, noting that the latter reached out to him once but that he didn’t hear from her again after that.

Kier opted not to further expound on his sentiments toward his daughter and instead expressed his gratitude to those who took care of Dani in his absence, who include Gretchen Barretto and Padilla.

“Si Dennis—’yan gusto kong pasalamatan ‘yan kasi inalagaan niya at minahal niya si Aynrand na parang sarili niyang anak, and I appreciate that,” Kier said, referring to Dani’s real name. (I want to thank Dennis because he took care and loved Aynrand (Dani) like his own, and I appreciate that.)

He then addressed Padilla and advised, “Basta lakasan mo lang ‘yung loob mo. Gawin mo kung ano ‘yung tingin mong tama at ‘wag kang makikinig sa sinasabi ng ibang tao… It will give you peace in your mind and in your soul.”

(Be strong. Do what you think is right and do not listen to other people. It will give you peace in your mind and in your soul.)

Kier said he hasn’t been able to talk to Dennis yet, and he looks forward to having a conversation with him sometime in the future.

“I think isa ako sa mga taong talagang makaka-relate sa pinagdadaanan niya. Halos may hawig e,” he stated. “Nagsu-support ako d’yan kay Dennis kasi nakita kong mabuti siyang ama… Mabuti siyang tao.”

(I think I am one of those who can relate to his current situation. Our circumstances are somehow similar. I support Dennis because I can see that he is a good father. He is a good person.)

“Nakikita ko na mahal naman talaga ni Dennis ‘yung mga anak niya… So bakit ganyan, bakit may issue?” he added. “I feel sorry for Dennis e.” (I can see that Dennis really loves his children, so why is there an issue? I feel sorry for him.)

During the interview, Kier was also asked about his relationship with Marjorie but the actor said he had “nothing to say” to the latter. Nevertheless, Kier underscored that he’s open to reconciling with their daughter Dani and that he’s just waiting for her to reach out to him.

“Naghabol ako simula nung bata ‘yan hanggang tumanda na ‘yan at nagkaroon ng anak, pero katulad nung sinabi ko, paano kayo magkikita kung ‘yung hinahabol mo ay tumatakbo naman ng papalayo? ‘Yung hinahanap mo tago naman nang tago?” he said.

(I have chased after her from when she was young until she grew up and started her own family, but as I have said, how will you chase someone who keeps on running away? How will you find someone who keeps on hiding from you?)

“Magulang ako. Mamahalin ko lang ‘yung anak ko, gano’n lang kasimple—kahit anong mangyari,” he stressed. (I am a parent. I will love my children no matter what; it’s as simple as that.)
