Dennis Padilla clarifies he’s not after his children’s money: ‘Gusto ko lang silang makapiling’
Dennis Padilla stressed that he is reaching out to his children — Julia, Claudia and Leon — not to ask for money but for them to spend time with him, as per comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz.
Padilla opened up about his strained relationship with his children with ex-wife Marjorie Barretto and stated he just wants to “work things out” between them, via a phone call with Diaz. Diaz then gave an account of his conversation with Padilla in a vlog on his YouTube channel yesterday, Sept. 24.
“”Yung iba kong anak nire-respeto ako. ‘Yung iba kong anak may communication pa rin kami hanggang ngayon — dito lang talaga,'” Padilla was quoted as saying. “‘Gusto kong i-work out ‘yung relasyon ko sa mga anak ko.'”
(My other children respect me and communicate with me to this day — [all except Julia, Claudia and Leon]. I want to [mend] my relationship with my children.)
The actor then spoke about the bashing he gets from reaching out to his children publicly, explaining he does such as he gets no response when he communicates with them through calls or private text messages.

(I just want to be with them. I am just a father who also longs for and misses my children’s hugs.)
Julia recently had an interview with broadcaster Karen Davila, where the actress confessed needing more fatherly love and protection, which she is “not getting right now” from Padilla. Julia also revealed she is not yet ready to forgive the actor as she has gotten tired of their cycle of “making up and getting hurt.”
Padilla then refuted his daughter’s statements and noted that she only knows “half the truth” about their family. He also asked Davila to “be fair” and have an interview with him as well. JB
