“Kargo” revolves around Sara (Max Eigenmann) who’s determined to seek revenge after her entire family perishes in a motorcycle accident in Iloilo, as a way of easing her despair.

Meanwhile, Obispo bested five other nominees to win Best Director for his work in the 2022 film “A Baseball Player.”

His fellow nominees include Indonesia’s Kamila Andini for “Before, Now, and Then,” Malaysia’s Tan Chiu Mui for “Barbarian Invasion,” and Sabri Yunus for “Duanm Nago Bogho,” Philippines’ Christian Paolo Lat for “Ginhawa,” and Luisito Ignacio for “Broken Blooms.”

The movie, which was included in Cinemalaya 2022’s full-length category, tells the story of a Moro child soldier who dreams to become a baseball player. EDV
