Christian Bables says ‘Dirty Linen’ co-star Jennica Garcia is his ‘best friend’
Despite having a close relationship with his “Dirty Linen” co-star Jennica Garcia, Christian Bables stressed that they are just “best friends” as they can stay by each other’s side “for life.”
Bables made the revelation during an interview with broadcast journalist Bernadette Sembrano which was uploaded on her YouTube channel on Saturday, April 1, when the actor was asked if he’s seeing anyone at the moment.
“Ngayon ba, may love life ka (Do you have a love life right now)?” Sembrano asked Bables, to which the actor replied that he’s currently not in a relationship with someone.
“May nililigawan ka ba (Are you courting someone)?” the journalist said, as she prodded about his romantic affairs.
The “Dirty Linen” star laughed, before saying that Garcia is his “best friend.”

“Nandoon kami sa punto na ayaw naming masira ‘to. Gusto namin for life. I can always be, and forever be, the father of her kids, at magsa-stay lang na ganoon. I can always be right here for her and with her, kahit anong mangyari. Kasi kapag nahaluan ng romantic relationship, may tendency kasing maputol. Ayaw namin ‘yon,” he said.
(We’re at a stage of our relationship where we don’t want this to be broken. We want this to last for life. I can always be, and forever be, the father of her kids, and it would stay that way. I can always be right here for her and with her, no matter what happens. Because if this becomes a romantic relationship, there’s a tendency for the bond to be broken. We don’t want that to happen.)
During the interview, Sembrano also pointed out that adding a label to relationships adds more pressure to both parties. However, she asked Bables if he and Garcia decided to add a label to their supposed friendship.
“Wala (None),” he said before laughing with the journalist. “Nakilala ko siya noong 2016 (I met her in 2016),” the actor said, before Sembrano said in jest, “Ang tagal namang mag-best friend niyan (You’ve been best friends for a long time).”
The Urian-winning actor then maintained that he’s “happy” with his current status, saying that he would eventually get into a relationship with someone when the time is right.
“Happy ako sa status ko ngayon. Kapag dumating, dadating (I’m happy with my status right now. If [‘the one’] comes, then they will come),” he added.
Garcia confirmed her separation from estranged husband Alwyn Uytingco in February after months of speculation, where she noted that it’s been “two years” since they decided to end their relationship for good.
Bables portrays the role of Max Dionisio, while Garcia is known for playing Lala Millado in the hit teleserye. The ongoing revenge drama also stars Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, John Arcilla, Janice de Belen, Angel Aquino, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin. EDV
