Will Bea Alonzo ever be friends with her ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson?

Even if it’s been more than three years since their split, Alonzo revealed that she will “never” be friends with Anderson in the future, describing him as someone she cannot trust.

The actress made the revelation in an episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” as seen on GMA’s YouTube channel on Thursday, Jan. 26. The topic was brought up by host Boy Abunda, after he asked her if there’s a chance that she can ever be friends with Anderson again.

The TV host also noted that Alonzo is currently good friends with Zanjoe Marudo, whom she dated for six years.

“Hindi. I can never be friends with somebody I cannot trust, and somebody who doesn’t take responsibility for his actions so siguro hindi,” she said. (No… I can never be friends with somebody I cannot trust, and somebody who doesn’t take responsibility for his actions, so maybe not)

Abunda also touched on the topic of Anderson’s tell-all interview with him in March 2021, where the actor shared his side on “ghosting” the “Start-Up PH” star. To recall, the latter stressed that he did not ghost anyone and that their relationship was “very toxic”

Alonzo then admitted that she was hurt upon seeing the actor’s exclusive interview with the TV personality, saying that she’s only a human being who gets hurt.

“Tao lang ako, Tito Boy. But I’m so glad na iniisip mo ako kasi ‘yun ang tumatakbo sa isip ko noon. ‘Iniisip kaya ako ni Tito Boy kung ano ang nararamdaman ko?’ Kaya it’s so comforting to know that you were. Siyempre, tao lang din ako. So kung sino man ang i-interviewhin siya at that time, it would hurt especially if half the time, he wasn’t telling the truth,” she said.

(I’m only human, Tito Boy. But I’m so glad that you were thinking of me at that time, because that was running through my head. “Was Tito Boy thinking about what I would feel? So, that’s why it’s comforting to know that you were. Of course, I’m only human. So whoever would interview him, it would still hurt, especially if half the time, he wasn’t telling the truth.)

The Kapuso actress also revealed that she was crying when Anderson’s tell-all interview with Abunda was unveiled to the public.

“Masakit sa akin. I was crying… pero dahil tao din ako at natututo din ako, na-realize ko that it’s part of your job. As a great interviewer, alam ko na both sides of the story, kailangan mong malaman,” Alonzo said. “And you actually asked me if I was willing to share my side of the story, but I opted not to. But I appreciate that also.”

(It hurt me. I was crying. But since I’m human and I learn eventually, I realized that it’s part of your job. As a great interviewer, I realized that it’s your job to know both sides. And you actually asked me if I was willing to share my side of the story, but I opted not to. But I appreciate that also.)

Despite their controversial breakup, Alonzo said it is part of the past now.

“This is part of my past and of course, parte siya ng pagkatao ko (this is part of who I am),” she added.

Alonzo and Anderson’s break-up was the center of controversy in 2019, after the former revealed that he just “started not talking” to her. At the time, fans speculated that the split was caused by fellow actress Julia Barretto. The actress also shared in an interview with Mega Entertainment in 2021 that the actor “gaslighted and cheated” on her.

Anderson is currently in a relationship with Barretto, which was confirmed in March 2021. The celebrity couple previously starred together in the film “Between Maybes”.

On the other hand, Alonzo is dating Dominic Roque with whom she feels “contentment” and hopes that he is the one. EDV
