Gerald Santos named Entertainer of the Year at 35th Aliw Awards

Gerald Santos brought home the glory at the 35th Aliw Awards after he was named Entertainer of the Year.
The singer-thespian, who recently starred in the original production “I Will: The Musical”, was likewise bestowed the Best Actor Award in Musical in the annual music awards, as seen on his Instagram account today, Dec. 6.
Santos was also named as Entertainer of the Year at the Aliw Awards in 2020, as seen on the award-giving body’s official website.
“Was really pleasantly surprised about bagging the Entertainer of the Year Award 2022,” he said.

Aside from Santos, “I Will: The Musical” also brought home the Best Composer in an Original Musical Play and Best Ensemble in a Musical Play in the 2022 Aliw Awards.
“Congratulations my I Will Family, Direk Kuya Cocoy Tito Reli De Leon and Doc Willie and Liza Ong [emoji] Thank you Aliw Awards Foundation,” Santos said on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez took home the Best Major Concert award, while Broadway singer Niña Campos bagged the Best Performance in a Concert (Female).
“I Will: The Musical” is a 2021 musical production based on the life of Dr. Willie Ong.
Santos is best known for winning GMA’s Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2006. He starred as Thuy in the UK International Tour of “Miss Saigon” from 2017 to 2019, and is set to reprise his role in Denmark on February to June 2023. EDV
