Matteo Guidicelli honors wife Sarah Geronimo: ‘She went against all odds for me’

Matteo Guidicelli was all praises to wife, singer-actress Sarah Geronimo, who he said went against all odds for him and their relationship.
During the “H.O.P.E.” segment of his noontime show “Tropang Lol” on Wednesday, Guidicelli was interviewing a couple who were discussing how their relationship was able to transcend challenges, including the fact that the man’s family was against it. The video clip of the show was retweeted by a fan account.
Guidicelli was talking about the possibility of them getting back together amid their struggles as a couple, comparing true love to a puzzle piece falling into place.
“That’s the beauty of love. Sa pag-ibig, mari-realize natin na hindi tayo perfect as an individual pero kapag dumating ang tao na talagang swak sa ‘yo — parang puzzle lang ‘yung pag-ibig, e — dapat magtulungan kayo para maging buo at maging isa kayo,” the TV host said.
(In love, we will eventually realize that we are not perfect as individuals but when someone suited for you comes — love is somehow a puzzle — the two of you should help each other to be complete and be one.)
“I really put so much respect on people like you who [go] against all odds, [who] are so brave,” he added.
Guidicelli then took that moment to draw from his and his wife’s own experiences as a couple, as he acknowledged Geronimo’s own determination to make their relationship work.
“I’d like to also give it up to my wife, that she went against all odds for me,” Guidicelli stated. “At the end of the day, love is the decision of two individuals, not about the people in the family or the people around them anymore. It’s about you and your partner.”

The celebrity couple’s own secret wedding in February 2020 sparked the interest of the public amid the disapproval shown by the Pop Princess’ mother Divine toward their relationship.
It was also reported that Divine even stormed into the reception and confronted the couple as well as the guests.
Despite this, Guidicelli opened up about his hopes of reconciling with Geronimo’s family.
Last month, Geronimo asked her parents for forgiveness for the “life decisions” that affected their relationship. She also admitted that she misses and thinks about them everyday. EDV
