Sarah Geronimo and her husband Matteo Guidicelli encouraged the public to check animals that are up for adoption after they visited a nonprofit that campaigns against animal cruelty.
Guidicelli gave a glimpse of their visit to the Animal Kingdom Foundation’s rescue center, on his Instagram page yesterday, Nov. 7.
“We visited @akfanimalrescue and found out that the ‘dog meat trade’ in the Philippines still happens in some parts of the country. We listened to all the heart breaking rescue stories,” he told fans.
Guidicelli then expressed appreciation for volunteers of the organization, and noted that the center has dogs that are up for adoption.
“[They] have over 200 beautiful dogs up for adoption. Check them out,” he stated.
Geronimo and Guidicelli, who marked their second anniversary last February, wed in a secret Christian wedding in 2020. However, Geronimo’s mother found out about the ceremony and reportedly confronted the couple during their reception. There were also claims that Guidicelli punched Geronimo’s bodyguard during the event, though this was later denied by the actor.
Despite part of their wedding day turning sour, Guidicelli admitted in December 2020 that he hoped to reconcile with his wife’s family. Geronimo also addressed her parents, Delfin and Divine, in a now-deleted Instagram post in which she asked for forgiveness for recent “life decisions” that affected their relationship. /ra
