The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter worked with her long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff in bringing to life 13 songs for the album, released on Spotify at 12 noon today, Oct. 21.

FEATURED STORIES

Other artists involved in the album are Lana Del Rey, featured in the song “Snow on the Beach,” Zoe Kravitz and Swift’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who goes by the pseudonym William Bowery.

Swift opened up on the “wild ride” she took in creating “Midnights” via her Twitter page shortly after the album’s release.

“Midnights is a wild ride of an album and I couldn’t be happier that my co-pilot on this adventure was @jackantonoff. He’s my friend for life (presumptuous I know but I stand by it) and we’ve been making music together for nearly a [decade]…,” she told fans.

“This is our first album we’ve done with just the two of us as main collaborators. We were so lucky to also work with @sam_dew, @sounwave, Lana Del Rey, @Jahaansweet, @thekeanubeats, William Bowery and @ZoeKravitz,” she added.

Swift also described “Midnights” as a “collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows.”

“Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely. Just like ‘Midnights.’ Which is out now,” she said.

‘Midnights’ (3am edition)

Swift surprised fans with seven more bonus tracks to “Midnight,” just hours after the release of the emotionally charged 13-track album.

The singer stated that these bonus tracks are part of the “journey to find that magic 13,” as seen on her Instagram post today.

“Surprise! I think of ‘Midnights’ as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour,” she told fans. “However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13. I’m calling them 3am tracks.”

“Lately I’ve been loving the feeling of sharing more of our creative process with you, like we do with From The Vault tracks. So it’s 3am and I’m giving them to you now,” she added.

“Midnights” comes about two years after the indie-folk-leaning “folklore” and “evermore” albums, both released in 2020. The singer had also re-released her albums “Fearless” and “Red” last year, in her bid to regain ownership of her entire discography. /ra
