LISTEN: James Reid drops second album ‘lovescene’ after five years
James Reid has finally dropped his sophomore full-length album “lovescene,” five years since he treated fans with his debut release.
The actor-singer’s album was released on Spotify and various other music platforms on Thursday. Reid shares credit with his music label Careless for all 10 tracks featured in the album.
“Lovescene” opens with the song “cali lovin” that was first performed by Reid in the Recording Academy’s “Press Play at Home” video series last May. It is followed by the track “u&i”, which featured Filipino-American model Kelsey Merritt in its earlier released music video.
Reid also collaborated with Korean singer Woosung and American singer Destiny Rogers for the songs “hold on tight” and “lie to me,” respectively.
For Reid, his new album can be described as “a journey through the life and death cycle of love,” based on a teaser on Careless’ Instagram page, also today.

“Lovescene” is Reid’s follow-up to his first album “Palm Dreams,” released back in 2017. While fans had to wait five years for a second album, Reid did not disappoint them with several musical projects over the past year.
He released the single “Hello” in June last year, followed by a remix of the track last March.
There have also been speculations online that Careless and the K-Pop agency Starship Entertainment may be working on a project together, after Reid and Careless CEO Jeffrey Oh were seen visiting the company’s office in South Korea last July. EDV
