Markus Paterson reveals breakup with Janella Salvador was ‘almost a year’ ago
Markus Paterson has broken his silence on his split with actress Janella Salvador, revealing that they went their separate ways “almost a year” ago.
The actor confirmed his separation from Salvador via his Instagram Stories yesterday, Sept. 9. He also stressed that both he and Salvador are “happy in life.”
“Just to clear up the facts, me and Janella have been broken up for almost a year. She’s happy in life, and I’m happy in life and our only priority is Jude,” he said, referring to their son.
Paterson then clarified his remark in a recent “Boys After Dark” podcast episode, in which he stated that his past relationships had taught him “never to f*cking date someone in the industry.”
“What I said in the podcast wasn’t actually about her but I understand that it was open to misinterpretation because of the way I phrased it [and] since we never actually announced our break up,” he told the public.
Paterson became the subject of controversies recently after a February interview of Salvador with talent manager-comedian Ogie Diaz resurfaced online. In the interview, Salvador opened up on the trauma of being around drunk men and admitted she and Paterson were still “working on” adjustments on his alcohol intake.
Claims that Paterson had committed violence against a woman then apparently circulated online, though the actor asserted he had not done such an act.
Meanwhile, Salvador is yet to issue a statement directly referring to her split with Paterson, though she seemingly confirmed it in an interview with broadcaster Bernadette Sembrano, wherein she revealed that she is now a single mom.
