Donnalyn Bartolome apologized for the sexy baby-themed birthday photo shoot she did which drew criticisms from netizens, and stated that it was an “honest mistake” on her part.

The vlogger marked her 28th birthday with a photo shoot where she portrayed a baby in a sexy manner, posted on her Instagram page last Saturday, July 9. The photos, which are now deleted on her page, showed Bartolome with only a bib as her top, as well as her wearing a onesie while drinking from a milk bottle.

Netizens, particularly on Twitter, called out Bartolome and pointed out that said concept is “disturbing” and “enabling pedophilic culture.”

“Donnalyn Bartolome, 28 years old, did a sexy photo shoot wearing infant clothes for her birthday. She probably did it to show her ‘creativity’ without heeding the thought that she would enable pedophilic culture. Tell me what’s not disturbing about that,” one @Hannabeem said.

“Sexualizing clothes that are made for toddlers? Really? Ms. Donnalyn Bartolome, you’re feeding [ped0’s sexual] fantasies with your own birthday concept,” one @chrsmtcullen stated. “That is absolutely disturbing. Making it a ‘sexy’ concept is absolutely DISGUSTING of you.”

“PEDOPHILES ARE ENJOYING Donnalyn Bartolome’s post. She’s so pretty, I know she can do so much better than that,” one @jestoxickitten wrote. “What she posted is very alarming and disturbing considering there are a lot of victims of child trafficking.”

Bartolome addressed the issue and stressed that it was never her intention to enable “horrifying acts,” as per a statement released on her Twitter page yesterday, July 10. Bartolome added that she was not able to take down the post right away because she needed to have the copyright first “to prevent the spread of it furthermore.”

“Almost a million people across [social media] platforms thought of it light and funny because they know my personality and didn’t look at it that way, hence our initial reaction to the idea was the same,” her statement read. “But upon reading other people’s perspectives, I completely agree. I feel terrible, sick to my stomach and had disturbing flashbacks I’d rather not say.”

Bartolome then expressed her gratitude to those who reached out to her regarding the issue, especially those who “did it so kindly,” and noted that they help her carry out her “responsibility of influencing millions.”

“It’s not easy but I’ll do my best,” she added. “Thanks everyone and I’m sorry.”

Bartolome ranked fifth in the “Top Content Creators” list by YouTube Philippines released last December 2021. She also recently reached 9 million subscribers in the said platform. JB
