Kris Aquino has a simple birthday wish from her fans as she asked for prayers for herself and a certain someone who she did not name.

Aquino stressed that more than gifts, prayers are what she really needs to receive for her upcoming birthday, as per her Instagram page yesterday, Feb. 12.

“Thank you for being so kind [and] generous to me but super okay lang [it’s okay] as much as I appreciate the balloons, flowers, cakes, the fruits, the food I’m receiving, your PRAYERS are what we really want [and] need,” she said.

Aquino spoke about the needs of the Filipino people and how she feels “insensitive” receiving gifts amid hard times.

“Best birthday gift you can give me — PLEASE DON’T spend more money on me, NAKAKAHIYA [I feel ashamed] and I feel insensitive to the needs of our fellow Filipinos,” she stated. “Alam ko how much food costs have gone up plus ang mahal ng flowers kasi nga Valentine Season.” (I know how much food costs have gone up and flowers are really expensive now because of Valentine Season.)

Aquino also talked about her health condition, adding that she will be out of the country for months for her treatment.

“And YES, easily mga [four] months kaming abroad because maraming complications na ‘yung illness ko pero kasama si [Kuya Josh and Bimb] so COMPLETE kami,” she added.

The Queen of All Media then asked fans to pray for a certain someone who she and her brother, late President Benigno S. Aquino III, “love so dearly.” She didn’t name who she was referring to and appealed to the public to respect the person’s privacy.

“But the fact alone na all my prayers now, hindi para sa ‘kin, and I’m asking you to do the same — na siya muna and ipagdasal niyo. PLEASE REALIZE HOW MUCH THIS MATTERS TO ME,” she said.

Aquino also expressed her gratitude to presidential candidate Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson for his appreciation of her brother and his “no wang-wang policy” in the recent “The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews.” She noted how Lacson made her “feel good yet also further enlightened.”

Aquino earlier paid tribute to her late brother on his 62nd birthday by writing an open letter to him. In the said letter, she also said that “all is forgiven and forgotten” between her and ex-fiancé Mel Sarmiento. JB
