Albie Casiño has apologized to everyone he offended after he made negative statements about his ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann’s weight during a recent live stream.
The actor told fans in a Kumu live stream last Oct. 26 that Eigenmann never apologized to him for getting him involved in the controversy surrounding her pregnancy back in 2011. He also reportedly told fans in the live stream that he is happy Eigenmann became “super fat” and has gained a lot of weight.
Casiño acknowledged that what he said in the live stream is wrong, as seen in his interview with TV host Toni Gonzaga for the latter’s YouTube vlog yesterday, Nov. 21. Gonzaga brought up the subject when Casiño told her he learned he should talk in a “kinder” way after being evicted from the “Pinoy Big Brother” house.
“I know now that I was wrong to say that. I want to apologize to everybody who was offended by what I had to say,” he addressed the public.
He added that the remark was made “in the spur of the moment” while also admitting he said it to make Eigenmann “feel bad.”
“I wanted to say something that would make her feel bad because of all of the anger that I had, all the pent up frustration that I had from all of the years,” Casiño told Gonzaga. “I felt like this would be a way for me to say something funny, at the same time get back at her for what she did to me, but I did not expect it to be taken that way.”
The actor then expressed regret for making fun of Eigenmann, while stressing that he is not clearing himself of all wrongdoing.
“I regret saying it. The platform that I have now, I want to spread positivity and with that statement, there was nothing positive about that,” he said. “But then again, hindi ako naghuhugas kamay dito (I’m not washing my hands here). I really did want to say something to make her feel bad and that’s also wrong.”
Casiño got involved in controversy back in 2011 when Eigenmann got pregnant and named him as the father. He denied being the father of the child, while his showbiz career at the time was negatively affected after he was lambasted by the public. It was later revealed by the actress’ sister Max in 2016 that the father of her niece Ellie is Jake Ejercito.
When asked if he is still mad at Eigenmann, Casiño believes he will always feel anger towards the actress.
“It’s not there all the time. If someone brings her up to me, it’s not good emotions that I am thinking, it’s not good feelings that I am feeling. I’m only human,” he said.
He also told Gonzaga that he did not feel “vindicated” when the truth came out in 2016, pointing out that Max’s revelation on Ellie’s father was a “slip-up.”
Back in 2017, Casiño said he has moved on from the paternity issue involving Eigenmann and is being “civil” towards her, but he would not describe their relationship as “okay.”
Meanwhile, Eigenmann has been co-parenting Ellie with Ejercito. She is now based in Siargao with her fiance, celebrity surfer Philmar Alipayo, and their two children. JB
