Britney Spears is still on cloud nine after being freed from her 13-year conservatorship, marking her first weekend out of the legal arrangement with a glass of champagne.

The American pop star toasted to her newfound freedom by talking about her first dinner out after the conservatorship ended, as seen on her Instagram page today, Nov. 16.

“What an amazing weekend. I felt like I was on cloud [nine] the whole time,” she told fans. “I actually got my first glass of champagne at the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever seen last night!”

She added that she plans on continuing with the festivities for some time.

“I’m celebrating my freedom and my [birthday] for the next two months. I mean after 13 years, I think I’ve waited long enough!” she said.

Spears then thanked those who supported her during her battle against her conservatorship, as well as her lawyer Mathew Rosengart because he “truly turned [her] life around.”

“What a sight, seeing so many people celebrating my victory. I love my fans so much, so thank you!” she addressed her fans.

Under her legal guardianship, Spears was not allowed to have children, get married and manage her own finances, among others. Spears told a Los Angeles judge earlier this year that she was “traumatized” by the arrangement with her father, Jamie, and she wanted it to end.

The pop star regained control over her life on Friday, Nov. 12, when a Los Angeles judge terminated Spears’ conservatorship after 13 years.

The end of the conservatorship was celebrated by her fellow stars including Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton and Cher, among others.  /ra
