Marvel Studios has dropped the official trailer for its upcoming series “Hawkeye,” giving a first look at the action-filled adventures of the MCU’s famous archer and his successor.
The trailer shows Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton hoping to spend Christmas with his family. The festivities had to be cut short when he hears news of a vigilante archer wearing what appears to be his old Ronin suit, first seen in “Avengers: Endgame.”
The masked archer turns out to be Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, a talented archer with dreams of becoming a superhero. The two work together to take down criminals and Barton’s former enemies as he promises his family he will be back home to continue celebrating the holidays.
Renner first teased last December that Steinfeld was cast as Kate Bishop, who will eventually take the mantle of Hawkeye.
The series is set to debut on Nov. 24 on Disney+. It is the fourth live-action Marvel Studios show to appear on the streaming service, following “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “Loki.”
“Hawkeye” also stars Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh from “Black Widow” is also expected to appear, as per numerous reports, although she is not featured in the current trailer. The series is helmed by Rhys Thomas and the directing duo Bert and Bertie. JB
