WATCH: Kyline Alcantara covers ‘You Are Not Alone’ for WWF fundraiser

Young actress Kyline Alcantara treated fans to a cover of Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” as she teams up with the World Wildlife Fund – Philippines (WWF) for a fundraiser.
Alcantara labeled the said cover special as this will be aiding WWF’s Teaching the Next Generation of Planet Protectors: Environmental Education for 100 Children.
“Love and appreciation for the environment start from childhood which is the reason why it’s really important to promote environmental consciousness and encourage environmental action among the youth,” Alcantara said at the beginning of the video posted via YouTube on April 4.
“This is what WWF Philippines Environmental Education team, they provide turo (teaching) sessions around the country in order to share this message with more students every day,” she explained.
On why she chose the said Michael Jackson classic, Alcantara noted that it is “to remind everyone that they are not alone in their battles, that there are people out there who are praying and rooting for them to get through it.”
Those who would like to help the campaign may donate via Alcantara and WWF’s Simplygiving page.
Through the said project, 100 children “will learn from our biodiversity and conservation module where they will be taught about the interrelationships of various components in the environment, as well as different wildlife species and their habitats.”
They also noted that by making people realize how closely connected the planet’s health is to the health of human society, those willing to donate will be “helping in potentially preventing future pandemics from happening.” /ra
