‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ star Kang Myung-joo dies at 54

Kang Myung-joo, a South Korean actress best known for her brief appearances in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and “Doona!,” has died. She was 54 years old.
Kang’s death was confirmed by her daughter and fellow actress Park Se-young on her personal social media account on Friday, February 28 via a report on Korean media outlet Maeil Business.
“Mom left on a long journey yesterday afternoon. I would be grateful if you could remember the moments on stage that actress Kang Myung-joo loved and shined in,” Park said.
Her funeral will be held at the St. Mary’s Hospital along the Seocho District in Seoul, per reports.
While the cause of the actress’ death has yet to be disclosed, reports stated that she had been battling cancer, and has long been private about her condition.
Kang started her entertainment career as a theater actress in 1992 where she appeared in several productions including “Hamlet,” “Humans or Gods,” and “Coriolanus,” to name a few.
She also appeared in the dramas “Castaway Diva,” “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” “See You In My 19th Life,” and “Doona!,” to name a few.
