As part of her Holy Week celebration, Ai-Ai delas Alas shared that she has embarked on her first pilgrimage, not as a celebrity but as an “ordinary citizen” seeking spiritual reflection.
Delas Alas posted a video of herself on a bus en route to her pilgrimage in the Diocese of Novaliches.
“With hearts full of gratitude and faith, we are on our journey today on a pilgrimage to celebrate the Jubilee Anniversary of the Catholic Church — a sacred walk of love, reflection, and renewal,” she wrote in the caption on Facebook.
The actress emphasized in her video that the season of Lent is a time for individuals to reflect on their faith and “personal sins.”

“Parang patanda na ng patanda ang mga event ko. Season of lent, lahat po tayo ay mag-ika sa ating mga kasalanan,” she said. “First time ko pong sasama sa pilgrimage bilang isang normal na mamayan kakatuwa nga naka sakay kami sa bus at napaka dami namin. Six buses kami. To God be the glory.”
(My events are starting to become intended for adults. It’s the season of lent, we all need to repent our sins. This is my first time going on a pilgrimage as a normal citizen, it’s delightful that we’re on a bus and there are so many of us. There are 6 buses here.)
Delas Alas was recently thrust into the spotlight following her separation from estranged husband Gerald Sibayan.
After confirming that she revoked the green card petition of her ex-husband last March, the actress credited God for helping her overcome the “darkest moments” in her life.
“Through the darkest moments, when I felt abandoned and alone, God has been my constant source of strength and comfort. His grace has helped me cope with the pain, giving me the courage to keep going, one day at a time. Thank you, Lord, for never leaving my side,” she stated in her post at the time.
On April 7, the “Tanging Ina” actress declared the day as her “me-versary,” as she embraced the life of singlehood and “self-love journey.”
